Ever wanted to try and wash your own car? Car wash stops became popular for people who wanted to have their car cleaned within several minutes, especially with the use of tunnel washes and in-bay automatics which makes car wash easier and faster compared to hand wash. However, many car specialists would normally recommend hand wash from mechanized car washes to wash a car. This is because by hand, every nook-and-cranny found in the car, such as in the inside of the car, the rim, as well as the inside of the wheels can be cleaned thoroughly.

Although there are hand car wash facilities, where the vehicle is washed by employees, car owners can also do this for their own cars. However, there are several points that many of these car experts would like to impart to car owners planning on washing their own cars for the first time. Here are some of the few pointers that many of these experts have recommended in washing one's own car.

Step 1: Place your car on a shaded area
The reason why many of these experts recommend placing one's car in a shaded area when washing, rather than just washing their own car under the sun (for quick drying), is to prevent premature drying which can leave splotches on the paint. Many car owners failed to see this and experienced having these splotches on their cars which ruins the design of their car.

Step 2: Prepare all things to be used for the car wash
Some of the usual things used for a car wash include car soaps and other cleaning solutions, 2 buckets filled with water (one with the mixture of soap), hose (normal or pressure washer hose), large sponge or mitts, and towels (for drying). Wax is also one of the few things that many car owners would like to use for their cars, however, this is for another article.

Step 3: Clean off the car of loose dirt
This is through using a bucket dipper or a hose. In using a hose, many car experts wouldn't recommend using pressure washer hose at first. This is because the use of a strong strong jet can grit over the paint and scratch it.

Step 4: Soak sponge or mitts on soapy water
Soak it wet deep in the soapy water then apply gently on the car. Using a rotation method, like the "wax in-wax out" of karate kid, assures that every spot in the car are washed thoroughly. Also, always keep the car wet to as this will prevent droplets from drying on the paint and leaving water-spots. Using the right pressure in a pressure washer hose may do the trick.

Step 5: Wash car section per section
This technique is used to thoroughly clean of all parts of the car, from the hood to the trunk. According to car experts, scrub the lower body and the wheels last, as these are the dirtiest, grittiest parts. After cleaning all of it, use dry towels to dry the car.
